CRASH INTO POLE.
CAR TURNS SOMERSAULT. OCCUPANTS SERIOUSLY HURT. [BY TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Thursday. Serious head injuries were received by Messrs. A. W. Rawles and F. Locke, both of Waitara, when a motor car driven by Mr. Rawles left the road and crashed into an electric-light pole at New Plymouth this evening. The force of the impact split the pole half-way up, and plunged the district into darkness. The car left the road after crossing the Waiwakaiho Bridge. The rear of the car struck the pole and the vehicle somersaulted. The condition of both men was reported this evening to be critical.
