EMPIRE ECONOMICS.

CONFERENCE AT OTTAWA. ACTIVE PREPARATIONS. (Received April 21, 7.25 p.m.) OTTAWA, April 20. Preparations for the Empire Economic Conference to be held at Ottawa in July are being pushed forward. Committees, sub-committees and * inter-departmental organisations of the Government are hard at work gathering essential information. Probably there will be a discussion in Parliament on the conference soon, when a vote of £50.000 to defray the expenses of the gathering will come before the House of Commons. The Prime Minister, Mr. R. B. Bennett, is prepared to set aside a day for members to express their views.
