CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH.
Auckland—After heavy showers during the morning, the weather cleared and was fine for the greater part of yesterday. There were periods of sunshine, with only a light breeze from the south-west, lh® barometer rose slowly during the duv'i the leading at midnight huing 30.10 in. Wellington.—The weather was again gloriously fine and warm yesterday. There was a light breeze from tha north, L'hrislehurch.—Mild conditions iu ' yesterday, with a breeze which varied from south-west to east. Hie maxinwiu temperature was 73 degrees. 'lhe baio* meter recorded 29.30 in. in the evening and had a rising tendency. Uunedin.—Bright sunshine yesterday and the thermometer records' 70 degrees at noon.
