RICHMOND CRUISING CLUB. RACE TO ISLINGTON BAY. The Richmond Cruising Club will hold a general handicap for boats 20It and under to-morrow afternoon, the destination being Islington: Bay. Tho race will start at 2.30 p.m. on the three-flag system. I' ollowing is the course:—From starting line between launch Cyrena and western wall direct to Islington Bay, observing no fairway marks,: and finishing between launch and mark boat moored west. The entries and handicaps are as follows; —Matariki, on wind scr, off wind scr; Matarere, scr, scr; Ifanui. lm. scr; Avro, 2m. lm; Marianne, 2m, scr; "Wild Wave, 6m, om; Sea Crest, 6m, sm; Maranui.'Bm, sm; -Rita, 14m, 10m; Irene, 16m, 10m; Swiftsure, lGm, 14m; Ethel, 16m, 10m: Clio,. 20m, 15m; Maureen, 35m, 20m; Phaola, 30m. 25m (no extras); Colleen. Officials in charge of the racing will be: —Starter and judge, Mr. T. L. Thompson; timekeeper, Mr. O. Bellvie; recorder, Mr. Ivo Dennis. REGATTA PRIZE NIGHT. NORTHCOTE 'AND BIRKENHEAD. J The prizes won at the Kortheofe and Birkenhead annual regatta were distributed at a social gathering in the King's Theatre last evening, when there was a • large attendance. The prizes were presented by Mr. R. tin. Mayor of Northcote, who expressed pleasure at the increased interest taken by residents this year. This was doubtless due to the depression resulting m a decision to confine the function to local boats. Perhaps next year, if tho finances permitted, the committee would add , two races for visitors. ' Tho principal prizes were: —First-class yachts: Merry Fortune, 1; Owhanga. 2, Second-class yachts: Avro, 1; Swiftsure, 2; Toss Up. 3. Third-class yachts: Meteor, 1: Yvonne, 2; Mighi.y Atom. 3. Launches: Waitangi, 1; Little Princess, 2; Miss. Billie, 3.
