UNHEEDED WARNINGS. An Australian writer says: "There is a big section of the poultry owners who do noi seem to know whether their birds are fiick or healthy, or whether they are doing well or badly. Recently two experienced breeders went to see a man on business. That concluded he took them with pride to see his flock of pullets which he appeared to consider left nothing to be desired. They were greeted with a chorus of sneezings and chockings, showing that changeable weather had caused a general outbreak of colds. The inexperienced owner took 110 notice of these warnings until he was told that if he did not at oneo treat the birds he would probably lose most of them. " Some time ago T was called in to 1 advise a man whose chickens and ducklings were not prospering. The largest drinking vessel was an old lid from a. mediumsized saucepan. The others consisted of very small sardine tins, tobacco and cigarette tins. As the owner was frequently away from home all day, one can easily see that the poor birds must have suffered agonies of tlnrsti. '1 lie owner seemed nuitr> put out when I expatiated on his folly and cruelty, and recommended better water vessels, which would entail tho expense of a few shillings."-
