ACTIVITY OF THIEVES.
royal oak shop entered. SUM OF £ls IN CASH STOLEN. Thieves who entered a fruit shop in Mount Albert Road, a short distance from Royal Oak, on Tuesday evening, stole the sum of £ls in cash, the money being taken from two cash boxes kept in a room at the rear of the shop. The premises were occupied by Mr. A. C. Hooker, who also lost a cashbox containing about £1 in silver. During the past two weeks, two other business premises in the same district have been entered. On April 6 a house at 22, Mount Albert Road, near Mr. Hooker's shop, was entered, cash, jewellery and a gold watch valued at £3O being stolen. On Friday evening a draper s shop at the Royal Oak Corner, owned by Mr. J. Ramson, was broken into and articles of drapery and mercery, valued at about £2OO, were stolen.
