LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

APPOINTMENT OF SELECTORS. TWO TRANSFERS APPROVED. After a close ballot, Messrs. E. K. Asher, W. Mincham and B. Avery were appointed selectors to the Auckland Rugby League Board of Control at a meeting of the controlling body last evening. There were six nominations. It was decided that the Ellerslie-Otahuhu senior club should revert to the name of Ellerslie United. It was pointed out that Ellerslie was no longer a senior club. All senior grade players would be able to transfer. The action of the Mount Wellington Club in changing its named to Otahuhu Rovers wag confirmed. The Referees' Association reported that Mr. T. Hill was its representative on the appointments and grading committee. Mr. G. McCowatt. was nominated as a second member. Mr. E. Stallworthy was appointed to represent the Control Board. It was decided to support the representations being made by the Auckland Football Association and Rugby Union to the City Council for a 10 per cent, reduction in ground charges. The transfers of C. Duane, Richmond to Marist, and W. G. Sinims, Marist to City, were approved. The application of M. Lee for a transfer from Richmond to South Auckland was forwarded to the New Zealand Council. . The power of a member of the St. John Ambulance Brigade or of a referee to order an injured player to the sideline was . discussed at some length. Mr. W. Mincham, representative of the Referees' Association, said his body was prepared to abide by the decision of the officer of the St. John. Ambulance Brigade. Mr. G. Rhodes, chairman, said he was interested in the discussion at the annual meeting of delegates to the New Zealand Rugby Union on the same subject, and a definite policy would be announced next week.
