LIFE IN INDIA.

LITTLE KNOWN ASPECTS. Many little-known aspects of life in India were discussed by Captain R. H. Neil in an address to members of the Overseas Club yesterday. Mr. E. C. Duncan presided. Tho costumes of the people were described by Captain Neil, who also dealt with the various States, particularly those in tho north-western district. In most parts of tho north-western frontier there was litile of value to the archaeologist, as conditions had never been peaceful enough to allow the development of culture which could produce buildings. Captain Neil spoke of many places of interest in Northern India, including native centres.
