TAKAPUNA BOROUGH.

SUBSIDY TO LOCAL BAND. DECISION FOR REVISION. On account of the state of the borough financies, the Takapuna Borough Council decided at its meeting last evening to review the annual subsidies of £SO paid to the Takapuna Municipal Band. It was agreed to grant a nominal provisional subsidy pending the calling of a public meeting with a view to handing over the band to a citizens' committee.

Disappointment was expressed with a communication from the Commissioner of Unemployment stating that the Unemployment Board was unable to vary the present system of the payment of relief workers in tho borough.
