In a 12-round heavy-weight boxing contest under the auspices of the Stadium Club, Rene Morris (Australia) defeated Jeff Wilson (Windsor) on points. AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS. VISIT TO WESTERN CANADA. (Received April i 9, 5.5 p.m.) WINNIPEG, April 18. In view of the visit of the Australian cricketers to Western Canada, the annual tournament has; been postponed for a year. CRICKET nsr ENGLAND. TOWER TO DRY TITCHES. LONDON, April 13. The County Cricket Advisory Committee lias agreed experimentally to dry wickets in 1932 matches. The groundsman during a match is empowered to rid the wicket of water, to enable play to begin with the least delay. The method of drying is left to the discretion of the groundsman, who is allowed to act before the toss, without consulting tho umpires. The drying process during a match will be under the supervision of the umpires, ■who are empowered to act without reference to the captains. Whenever they consider the wicket unfit for play, umpires can order any roller, but only to make the wicket fitter play. Umpires must consider the condition of the outfield, and the general prospects, before the beginning of the drying, and have the drier removed when satisfied that the wicket is playable. BILLIARDS AT MONTREAL. LINDRUM AND NEWMAN. (Received April 19, 7.5 p.m.) MONTREAL, April 18. A week's exhibition billiards match between Lindrum and Newman was begun at Montreal to-day. The scores are: — Newman (receives 5000), 5252; Lindrum, 519.
