CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH. Auckland.—There was a continuation of fine south-west weather yesterday. The barometer was falling after mid-day and registered 30.00 in. last night. Wellington.—The weather was fine yesterday, although the sky was overcast at times. A northerly wind was blowing. Clu'istchurch. —The weather was cloudy and mild with a breeze from the northeast. The maximum temperature was 60 degrees. The barometer continued to fall, the reading in the evening being 29.70 in. Dunedin.—The weather was dull and overcast with some light rain. A light north-east wind blew and the barometer fell sharply during the day, registering 29.80 in. in the evening.
