Wliaka:ane.—Al a meeting of <lip institute, r. talk 011 chrysanthemum growing was given hv Mrs. Guest. which proved noM helpful to garden lovers. Mrs. .Tolinson demonsfrated the making of a, bouquet and the decorating of a basket. The competitions resulted as follows:—Vase of flowers: Mrs. Stewart, 1; Mrs. llrrvken, 2; Mrs. Hansen, 7>. Bowl of autumn tints: Mrs. Guest, 1; Mrs. Orr, 2; Mrs. Stewart, 3. Mesdames Smedley and Wallis won a competition arranged by Mrs. Ilogg.
