DEATH OF CYCLIST.

INJURIES PROVE FATAL. OPENING OF INQUEST. An inquest concerning the death of Mr. William Millar Nicolson, aged 52, was opened before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.. coroner, yesterday afternoon. Deceased, who was a married man, living at 111, Station Road, Penrose, received severe head injuries last Friday when the motor-cycle he was riding collided with a power pole at the corner of Great South Road and St. Mark's Road. He was admitted to the Auckland Hospital, where he died yesterday morning. At one time deceased was an ciiginedriver in the service of the New Zealand Kailwavs.

After evidence of idont ificaFton had been given the inquest was adjourned sino die.
