Mrs. W. Lambourne. of Shelly Beach Road, TTerno Bay, lrft by the Aorangi yesterday for Sydney. Mrs. ,T. A. Clinch. of One Tree Hill, left by the Aorangi for Sydney yesterday, en route to England. Mrs. A. N. Scott, of Reniuera Road, was a .passenger by the Aorangi, which left yesterday for Sydney. Mrs. Lindsay Horrocks, of Salt-burn Road, Takapuna, has returned to Auckland from a visit to Dunedin. Mrs. D. M. Rodgers, Epsom Avenue, has been on a brief holiday to Gisborne and was the guest of Mrs. Noud. Mrs. J. Stockman, of Takapuna, and her little son leave to day on a visit to Mrs. A. R. Bunny, of Masterton. Mrs. H. M. Boddington, who has been visiting Mrs. F. McGovern, of Victoria Avenue, Remuera, for some weeks, leaves to day ou her return to Masterton. Mrs. Stanley Natusch (Miss Elizabeth Blake), who is well known in amateur theatrical circles arrived in Wellington by the Rangitala from England at the weekend. Mrs. E. E. Veitch, wife of Mr. W. A. Veitch, M.P., for Wanganui, has the distinction of being the first woman to join the Wanganui Justices' Association, and the only woman justice of the peace residing in Wanganui.
Miss Wigram, of England, who is at present the guest of Lady Game at Government. House, Sydney, is expected to arrive in Christ church at the end of this month to visit her brother and sister-in-law, Sir Henry and Lady Wigram. An unusual pastime for a clergyman's daughter is that chosen by Miss Winifred Howard, of New York, who flits away on world wanderings as a ship s deckhand or in other lowly, mannish capacity, satisfying a t hirst, for first-hand knowledge of unusual things. In her most recent trip she was engine-room assistant, and had quite exciting adventures in Panama, the Philippines, Hongkong and Manchuria. A successful concert in aid of the Manurcwa Presbyterian Church was produced recently by the children and young people of the congregation. The stage was artistically decorated, and the pretty paper frocks worn by the young performers gave a pleasing effect. Bouquets of flowers were presented to Mrs. McCallum in appreciation of her services as producer and costume-designer, and to Mrs. R. Butterworth, who presided at the piano. The fortnightly meeting of the Auckland Piano Students' Association was held last evening, when the third of a Chopin series was held. Polonaises and mazurkas, with fitting descriptions of each illustration and a short talk on tho origin of each form, were given by members. The mazurkas were illustrated by Miss M. Jagusch and Miss Nopes, and the polonaises by Miss Joyce Parker and Miss C. Martin. The programme for thn year was arranged.
