DESTRUCTION BY FIRE.
COUNTY COUNCIL CHAMBER. OUTBREAK AT HOKITIKA. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] HOKITIKA, Monday. The meeting chamber of the Westland County Council was gutted by fire early yesterday morning. The contents, which included a number of mementoes, photographs and a large map showing the economic minerals of Westland, were destroyed. Incendiarism is suspected. The buildings were insured for £4OO and the furniture for £IOO with the NewZealand Insurance Company.
