PRINCE PLAYS GOLF.
SUNNINGDALE CONTEST. DEFEAT IN FOURTH ROUND. GREAT STRUGGLE ENJOYED. By Telegraph— Press Association—Copyright. (Received April 8. 5.5 p.in.) LONDON'. April 7. The Prince of Wales, after winning his first three matches, was defeated to-day in the fourth round of the junior handicap knock-out golf competition at the annual meeting of the Navy and Marine (Royal) Golfing Society at Sunningdale. The Prince was eliminated after a great struggle with Surgeon-Commander Cameron. The game went to the loth iiole, the winner finishing one up. Referring to the match subsequently His Royal Highness said: " It was a wonderful game—the. finest T ever had. Our best ball score must have been really good. We had fours and fives all the way." Surgeon-Commander Cameron turned two up and became dorinv three. The Prince won the 16th and 17th holes, the former with a long putt. He just lipped tlie hole on the last green and failed to square the match. His Royal Highness drove well throughout. but his approaches were variable.
