OVERLOOKING HYDE PARK.

BLUE VELVET CURTAINS. PRINCESS'S MOVE. There was great activity at No. 32, Green Street, Park Lane W., recently, which is tho new homo of the Princess Royal (Princess Mary). At the beginning of last month much of the furniture and the art treasures were removed from Chesterfield House which has been the Princess's home since her marriage nine years ago—to the new home in Green Street. No redecorating has been done to the house. Any alterations which may be required are to be postponed until tho end of the London season. The house, which is in the Georgian style, was originally built for Lord Ribblesdale. Last November it was purchased by the Queen from'-Mr. T. 0. M. Sopwith, the aviation export. The Green Street house is very much smaller than Chesterfield House, and Princess Mary intends that it shall bo a homo in every sense of the word. All the fittings—even down to the kitchen utensils —have been personally chosen by tho Princess herself. Soft, subdued colours predominate in the furnishing, and the chief materials used are velvet and brocade, 'ihe drawing room, which overlooks Hyde Park, is hung with blue velvet curtains, whilo the walls are cream, with a faint gold line. This is said to be the loveliest room in the house. On the third floor is a special suite for Princess Mary's two children —Lord Lascelles and the Hon. Gerald Lascclles. There they will be able to enjov themselves in the gymnasium which has been fitted up for them.
