NEW HEALTH DISTRICT.
NORTH AUCKLAND AREA. DOCTOR AND NURSE APPOINTED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANGAREI, Thursday. From to-morrow North Auckland will be an independent health district, comprising Mangonui, Whangaroa, Bay of Islands, Hokianga, Whangarei, Hobson and Otamatea Counties, and all boroughs and town districts therein. Dr. Duncan Cook, who has been medical officer of health at Dunedin, has been appointed medical officer in charge of the district, and will lie stationed at Whangarei. Ho will be assisted by Nurse Winifred Wise, late of New Plymouth. Dr. Cook will also act as school medical officer, which has hitherto been a distinct position. Until 1924 North Auckland was a separate health district, but since then the North has been a part of (lie Auckland health district.
