FINE WEATHER MONTH.
SUNSHINE DURING MARCH. ONLY ONE HEAVY RAINFALL. Generally fine weather was experienced during March and there was only one heavy fall of rain. According to the report of Mr. S. M. Yallop, tho official Government observer, tho total rainfall for the month was 3.68 in., tho greatest fall, on March 22, being 1.98 in. The average rainfall for March is 2.99 in. Visibility was good throughout the month and on only ono day was there an absence of sunshine. The total period of sunshine was 192 h. 48rn., tho maximum for any single day being lOh. 54m., on March 11. Tliere was a prevalence of very light winds. Tho mean barometric pressure for tho month was 30.121 in. Tho maximum, 30.386 in., was recorded on March 30, and tho minimum, 29.8J5in., on March 23. llio mean maximum temperature was 7.1.81 dogrees, I lie minimum being 59.08 degrees. Tho cxtroino maximum temperature was on March 18, when 76.0 degrees wore registered, and tho extreme minimum temperature was 51.0 degree*, on March 26.
