KING OF RUMANIA.
RELATIONS WITH QUEEN. RECONCILIATION RUMOURS. BUCHAREST. March '23. King Carol of Rumania may yet effect a middle-aged reconciliation with Queen Helena, who left him when he refused to give up Madame Lupescu. Queen Helena arrived to-day at Bucharest from Florence, and although the official reason given for her visit is to see her 10-year-old son, Crown Prince Michael, it is assumed that her presence implies a reconciliation. Queen Helena has visited her son regularly since sho left Rumania last summer, but to-day for the first time the Royal train, awaited her at the frontier. King Carol married Princess Helena of Creece in 1921. Before his marriage he had married Zizi Lambrino, by whom he had a son.
After this episode he was packed off by his mother, Queen Marie, to a provincial garrison to repent of his youthful adventure.
His marriage to a commoner had debarred him from the throne, but the difficulty was overcome the marriage was annulled.

Queen Helena then divorced him. Rut Carol wanted to return to Rumania. Zizi Lambrino was given .CBO.OOO, and Magda Lupescu £BO,OOO and a castle to renounce all claims on him.
