NEW ZEALAND IMPORTS. MOVE FOR AN EMBARGO. (Received March '29, 9.-3 p.m.) SYDNEY, March '29. At the New South Wales Oyster Trade Conference to-day, a move was made to secure, an embargo against the importation of New Zealand oysters, which at present are flooding the Melbourne markets at prices with which New South Wales ovstermen cannot compete. The annual report pointed out that while there is an embargo against NewSouth Wales oysters entering the New Zealand market, as a consequence of which many local oyster growers have forsaken their leases and gone on the dole. New Zealand oysters are swamping the Victorian market.
