To Treat Mildew Stains.—Mildew will vanish if treated with soft soap and starch moistened with the juice of a lemon. Spread this paste over mildew, lay out and bleach. Afterwards wash. Repeat this until all signs of mildew have fitsappeared Another method is as follows: Procure a shilling bottle of chloride of lime at the chemist's. Take about 3 tablespoons and mix with o quarts of boiling water and 1 tablespoon of washing soda. Allow this to stand until thoroughly settled, very gently pour the liquid into the washtub. Be very careful (but the sodi inent does not come in contact with the linen, adrl water to cover the article. Allow fo soak for about half an hour, ring out and hang in the air, repeat if stain is st übboru.
