MOUNT ROSKILL AFFAIRS.
THREE KINGS POST OFFICE. THE COLLECTION OF RATES. The Mount Rosliill Road Board mot Inst evening, the chairman, Mr. C. M. McCullough, presiding. A loiter was received from the postmaster of tho Throe Kings post office stat ing that Hie office would cease to function as far as he was concerned if a reduction in his salary was made from £47 to £23. He forwarded a letter which le had received from the chief postmaster in which he was asked if he was prepared to conduct the post office under the proposed reduction. He stated he would not continue the office after April ] if the mh:"fion were made. It was decided to urge the Postmaster-General to continue the office under the existing arrangement. The Finance Committee recommended that, details of all rates owing after a period of six months and fourteen days from the date of demand should he forwarded to the hoard's Foiintor for eol lection. On the motion of the chairman, the iteornmondat ion was adopted, .Mr. I!. Sanft disse/iting. The .Main Highway* Board advi-ed that it could not offer a further subsidy on the extension of the concrete paving of .Mount Aliiert lload at the piesenl time. The matter i.-> to he considered in the 1932 1933 estimates.
