PULP FROM FLAX.
PRODUCTION IN AUCKLAND. LABORATORY TO BE ERECTED. Arrangements have been completed for the establishment in Auckland of a laboratory in which the. production of bleached sulphite cellulose pulp from New Zealand flax by tho processes invented by Dr. J. W. Brown, of Sydney, will be carried out on a semi-commercial scale. One of the primary objects of this laboratory will be to train a number of men to fit them to take up key positions in the industry when bulk production commences. Dr. Brown expects to leave Auckland by tho Ulimaroa for Sydney on Friday and to be back in New Zealand by the encl of April, when the laboratory will commence operations. Mr. A. K. Willson, who is associated with Dr. Brown, will remain in Auckland to supervise the erection of the plant.
