TRADE OF BRITAIN.
INTER-EMPIRE DEALINGS. DOMINIONS AS MARKETS. LONDON. March 20. Striking details of the value of British exports to the Dominions, as compared with those taken by foreign countries, were given in the House of Commons bv the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade, Mr. L. Horc-Belisha. The Minister said the aggregate declared value of domestic exports of the United Kingdom to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa for the 10 years ended December 31, 1931, averaged £5 4s a year per head of the aggregate population of those countries. The corresponding average in respect of Germany, France, the United States and Argentina was 12s. The total value of exports from Britain and Northern Ireland in the same 10 years was: —To Australia, £547,377,000; to Canada, £307,270.000; to New Zealand, £198,436.000; to South Africa, £302,169,000; to Argentina, £263,033,000.
