FIREBLIGHT AREA.
CHANGES IN BOUNDARIES, * Amendments to (hp Orchard and Garden Diseases Act. 1928,"governing tlie removal of certain plants and bees from the North Island to the rest of New Z»:>lai;d, are notified in tlie latest issue of the Gazette. The fireblight area was previously defined as the North Island and that portion of the South Island comprising the county of Kaikoura and the Christehurch commercial fruitgrowing district. The area now takes in the North Island and all that portion of the South Island bounded toward the south-west by the eastern boundaries of the Waimea, Murchison, Urev and northern portion of. the Westland counties; toward the south: east by the northern boundary of the Ashburton county; and toward the northeast and north-west by the sea coast, to the point of commencement. The following districts have been deleted from the prohibited area j—-Marl-borough, Kowai, Ashley, Oxford, i-vr* and Rangiora. The area now covers all that portion of the South Island cornpit*> ing the counties of Waimea, Taieri, peka and Vincent. - ■£:
