DAIRY PRODUCE EXPORTS.
MARKETING IN BRITAIN. KINDLY FEELING FOR DOMINION. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. The opinion that the outlook for New Zealand dairy produce in Britain was never brighter than it is to-day was expressed by Mr. A. B. Gibson, of Nottingham, head of a largo provincial dairy produce business, while on a visit to New Plymouth. "Five years ago," lie said, "65 per cent, of the produce my firm handled was foreign. To-day, 65 per cent, of it is Empire produce. There is the kindliest feeling among traders toward New Zealand and her products, but my impression is that all commodities will bo upon a lower basis than they have been. High juices were inevitable as an aftermath of tho war and tho cost of living will not again bo what it was." Mr. Gibson saiil New Zealand dairying products held a high place in Britain among traders and consumers alike. The attempt to introduce a lower grade of cheese a few years had been deplored and the modification of producing clicddar cheese was not favourably received. It was to bo hoped that quality would lie the first and last consideration in the manufacture of dairy products for Britain.
