Northerly to north-easterly winds, moderate to strong, increasing strong to gale again. Seas becoming rough and increasing generally. Local outlook : Cloudy and unsettled, with heavy rain following, accompanied by stormy conditions, and probably thunder. Warm temperatures, and humid atmosphere. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—A l-ather intense anti-cyclone now covers the Dominion. Indications are for southerly winds light to moderate generally, but fresh at first about Cook Strait and between Kaikoura and East Cape, later becoming variable. Seas rather rough between Akaroa and East Cape and in Cook Strait, elsewhere smooth to moderate. In the eastern Tnsman Sea, light to moderate variable winds, tending northerly.
