ENTHRALLING NEW SERIAL.
"TRUANT FORTUNE." An exciting and extraordinarily interesting new serial entitled, " Truant iortuno " is commenced in the columns of the New Zealand Herald Supplement to-day. There has not appeared for a long timo a story so thrilling, so tense, so alluring and mysterious as " Truant Fortune," from the virile, intriguing pen of that delightful writer, Elliot Bailey. Terrivale Wake, a shady solicitor, thief and murderer, preys upon society, and is himself being bled by Eliso Harrison, who knows enough to his discredit to send him to prison, and bv Jennings, who could send him to the gallows if ho were to tell what he saw. Wake, quite obviously is no fit man to have the guardianship of n young and beautiful girl, whose only living relative is a father whom she has never seen. Phyllis Laleham, though, is fortunate in having two such staunch friends as Jimmy Aslicroft and " Tubby " Baring. " Tubby " is a fat, good-humoured young in<yi whose only concern in life, apparently, is his own comfort. His readiness to cnioy either a joke or a fight will vastly entertain the readers who follow Phyllis Laleham's adventures in " Truant Fortupe."
