■ -■©" MRS. B. PATOX. A well-known resident of Howick, MrsB. Paton, died at the Auckland Hospital after a short illness, acred 75 years. Mrs. Paton was born at Howick and was » daughter of the late I\Lr. George Wagstaff, h pioneer of the district. Mrs. Paton spent all her life in the neighbourhood. About fonr years ago she celebrated her golden wedding. She is stirlived by her husband, Mr. B. Paton, who has been a lifelong resident of Howick. four sons and four daughtersThere are 30 grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. MR. J. G. RUSSELL. The death occurred on Thursday at bis residence, 43, Ranfurlv Road, Epsom, 0 a well-known Auckland business man, MrJohn George Russell. Mr. Russell was born in London and educated at .Christ College, England. He came to New Zealand about 30 years ago and for sonis time was associated in business with • W. Roulston, general merchant, at rukekohe, and later joined Messrs. Robertson Brothers, of Auckland, as manager. - few years ago he baeame a director o the Gilniore Oil Company, a position which he held until Ills death. Mr. ! _ 5 sell was an able accountant and a. justu® of the peace. Outside his business activities he was keenly interested in and as a boy was leading soloist, in tn choir of St. Paul's Cathedral, LondonHe is survived by his wife and four sons.
