NAVAL GUNNER'S RETURN.

After an absence from New Zealand of 4£ years Commissioned-Gunner S. C. Chapman, R.N., returned by the Ruahine on Saturday to report for duty to the Philomel. Mr. Chapman is being lent by the British Navy to the New Zealand Navy for a period of three years, lie has previously served with the Chatham, the Dunedin and the Philomel. Since leaving the Dominion he has heel stationed with the Mediterranean Fleet, where he served for 3£ years with H.M.S. Sandhurst.
