HUNTLY FLOWER SHOW.
[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.! HUNTLY, Friday. The Huntly Horticultural Society's autumn show was held on Thursday in the Town Hall. The chief flowers on exhibit were dahlias, and in these classes there were some exceptionally fine blooms. Although the show was not as large as previous ones the quality of blooms was up to the usual high standard. An exceptionally fine display of dahlias, for exhibition only, was shown by Mr. Bateson, of Hamilton, and attracted a great deal of notice from the visitors. Mr. G. Mills, of Auckland, acted as judge. A good exhibition of school work, which included articles of thrift, science notebooks and stencilling, made a very interesting display. Following are the winners of po:nts prizes:—Dahlias: Mr. 11. M. Hammond (Hamilton). Cut, flowers: Miss Edna Fairhurst. Decorative section: Mrs. 0. Bailev. Vegetables: Mrs. C. Storey (Matahuru). Collection of vecretables grown from Webster's seerls: Mr. D. Brown: Fruit, Miss E. Melling.
