OBITUARY.
MR. CHARLES HIBBLE.
(Received March 15, 7.25 p.m.) SYDNEY. March 15. The death occurred to-day at. Newcastle of Mr. Charles Hibble, formerly chairman of the Goal Tribunal, aged 66. lie was born in New Zealand and had had a distinguished career in New South Wales, Mr. Charles Hibble resigned the chairmanship of the Coal Tribunal in July, 1050. 110 had held the post since the constitution of Iho tribunal under the .Industrial Peaeo Act, in August, 1920. He became seriously ill in August, 1923. and the only occasion on which he sat subsequently was late in 1929, when, at the Commonwealth (lovernment's request, he attempted to bring about a settlement of the dispute between the associated northern owners and their employees. His jurisdiction in the matter was successfully challenged, but t.lie recommendations ho made for the settlement of the dispute were on lines substantially the same as those on which the mines were reopened in June, 1930.
