PEAT FIRES BURNING.

ELSTOW AND TIROHIA. FAIRLY EXTENSIVE AREAS. [BY TKLEGRATH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AROHA, Tuesday. Peat fires, caused by the prolonged dry spell, have again broken out over fairly large areas in the Elstow and Tirohia districts. A visitor to tho Government sections adjoining the Olway settlement states that he found some of the sections well in the grip of the fire and in places the land that had been worked recently with tractors and sown was burning to a depth of several feet.
