UPRISING FEARED.
MILITARISTS IN JAPAN. COUP THOUGHT IMMINENT. LONDON, March 13. The News-Chronicle states that despatches from Japan indicate that a military coup i«. imminent there. I)r. Nitobe, formerly Under-Secretary to the League of Nations, was dragged from hospital by military officers and forced to apologise for saying that tho militarists woie as dangerous as the Communists.
A tide of violent nationalism is sweeping through Japan, and unless an attempt to for't; a National Government succeeds quiofe'ly there may be an uprising.
