WEEK-END ATTRACTIONS.

ATHLETICS ON DOMAIN.

OPENING OF GOLF CLUBS. The programme of sporting fixtures arranged to take place over the week-end includes several interesting events. At the Domain the New Zealand amateur athletic championship meeting will be continued. Athletes from all over the Dominion will take part and some splendid contests should be seen. The final of the B grade competition arranged by tho Auckland Tennis Association will bo played at Pukeora between Remuera, winners of tho grass court section, and Pukeora, winners of the ha.rd court section. The semi-finals of the C grade and tho final of the D grade hard court championships will ho played at the Windmill Road and domain courts respectively. A gala day will be held by the Birkenhead and Northcotc. Lawn Tennis Club at Little Shoal Bay. The secondary schools championships will be continued in the morning, the boys playing at Stanley Street and the girls at the Windmill Road courts. Several races have been arranged by the various yacht clubs on both harbours. Trial fours will bo raced by the North Shore, St. George's and Waitcmata rowing clubs. Tho Ponsonby Swimming Club will hold a 60yds. club race at tho Shelly Beach Baths. Two golf clubs will open the season with competitions. The Titirangi Club has arranged mixed bogey foursomes and the Maungakiekie Club mixed Canadian foursomes. Further progress will he made in Iho cricket competitions controlled by Ihe Auckland arid Suburban Associations. Tho final of the pennant bowling competition will bo decided at. tho Auckland green between Mount Albert and Stanley. The annual tournament of tho Auckland Croquet Association, will be held. In tho evening entertainment will be provided at. the picture theatres and cabarets. No cinder-track meeting will be held.
