BENNETT STILL AT LARGE.

SEARCH NEAR AWAKINO.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Friday. The search for Charles Bennett, who escaped from the Hautu prison camp, has moved from Wanganui to the Waikawau district, Awakino. Bennett escaped thrco weeks ago with Edgar W. Allen, who was recaptured at Wavcrley. Bennett is thought to have driven up tho Manganui Road in a car answering the description of one taken from Wanganui. The car was seen by a settler's wife, who communicated with tho police. Tho car later was found abandoned and recovered by the police. A man was seen walking on tho road and subsequently a chequo book from a Wavcrley bank and other articles wcro found threo miles from Awakino. The police are still searching in wooded country.
