DEMANDING ADORATION.
GIRLS WE KNOW. " MY WORK." Sho paints littlo pictures on little pots. The fact that nothing whatsoever would ever fit into the little vaso does not disturb her. Sho calls this peculiar form of amusement "My work." The mantelpieces of her acquaintances aro dotted with little pots. I have one, says the writer. On it is a representation of a strangely bilioushued animal, with a garland around its neek. She said she did that when her mood was amber. Praise her work, and yon are her friend for life. She will tell you that you possess that " mood sensitiveness " which is essential to her.
Understand that she is not earning a living. Sho lives in a mediocre locality, but not in want. No. Sho has affected pots as another girl affects peroxide. Sho demands adoration. There are thousands liko her. They aro convinced that they possess a noble soul, a whimsical fineness, a strange " fey " attraction, owing to their habit ot performing some idiotic piece of work which would give a self-respecting housemaid the staggers. 1 know a girl who always wears a white gown when she pen paints. She says it aids " negation of environment." It certainly does not aid the pen painting.
