INSPIRING CALL TO YOUTH.
M CARRY ON! " The generation now nearing the forties and fifties will remember the war-time imperative " Carry on!" In his inspiring call to youth recently the Prince of Wales, in a sense, bequeathed the expression to the sons and daughters of the veterans. It is for them to remake a world that has been shattered by hard knocks. It is for them to rebuild a world nearer to the heart's desire. " Depression and apathy are the devil's own," said His Jfc>yal Highness. " Away with them!" If the struggle to come is a strenuous one there will be opportunities and chances. Mankind is on the threshold of a new era. The debris of the past mistakes must surely be cleared away. Old and obsolete ideas will be replaced. Youth will be ready for the difficult ardours, endurances and victories of peace, no less ready, in fact, than the youth of 1914 were ready for the ordeal of war.
Youth to-day is luckier in its generation. The horrors of Armageddon are behind them. To them the better fate of constructing rather than destroying.
