LAMB IN AMERICA.
COST TO THE CONSUMER. SMALL PRICE TO FARMER. NEW TOKK, March 3. A Kansas farmer sold seven lambs to a Chicago packing house. After the deduction of insurance, commission, inspection and other charges, from the wholesale price, the farmer received 3s each for his lambs. The Department of Agriculture, on investigation, found that consumers ultimately jjaid £l7 for the prepared lamb. In the Senate Jlr. A. Capper violently denounced the nation's food distribution methods.
