MEDICAL CONFERENCE.
CONCLUSION TO-DAY. FINAL MEETINGS ARRANGED. The annual conference of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association was continued yesterday and will conclude this afternoon. Addresses upon the modern treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis were delivered at a combined meeting yesterday bv Dr. Gilbert Maclean, superintendent of Pukeora Sanatorium, and Mr. J. A. Jenkins, Dunedin. Speakers at sectional meetings were:—Medicine: Dr. F. M. Spencer, Wellington, Dr. G. Bruton Sweet, Auckland, Dr. C. R. Burns, Dunedin. and Dr. C. A. Taylor, New Plymouth; surgery, Mr. A. E. Moore, Auckland, Mr. R. J. B. Hall, Gisborne. and Mr. Kenneth McCormick, Auckland; obstetrics, Dr. A. Douglas, Oamaru; anaesthesia, Dr. G. F V. Anson, Wellington, Dr. J. S. Hudson, and Dr. J. A. W. Roberton, Auckland; ear. nose and throat, Dr. 'J'. A. McGibbon, Christchurch ; ophthalmology, Dr. W. J. H. Robei tson, Dr. J. A. Doctor and Dr. G. W. Harty, Wellington, Mr. H. Coverdale and Mr. W. A. Fairclough, Auckland. The annual meeting of the NewZealand Obstetrical Society and a public meeting in support, of the formation of a league to aid the hard-of-hearing were also held. Wives of members were entertained at an afternoon party at the home of Mrs. Robert Burns, Mellon's Bay. Howick. Th» annual ball was held in tlie evening in the University College Hall. The annual meeting of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association will be held this morning, and will be followed by the annual meetings of the benevolent, fund and the New Zealand Medical Assurance Society. The annual meeting of the New Zealand branch of the British Empire Cancer Campaign Society will take place this afternoon .
".Anaesthesia in Surgery" will be discussed at ;i combined meeting this morning, when the speakers will be Mr. 0. H. Fagge, of London, . fid Dr. G. F. V. Anson, of Wellington. Meetings of most of tho sections will bo held in the afternoon, after which the conference will close. Members desiring to play golf will be (ho cuests of tlie Auckland Golf Club at Midd'emore this afternoon. A tactical exercise for officers of the New Zealand Army Medical Corps and reserve will be held at Waiwera to-morrow afternoon.
