FATAL EXPLOSION.

NATIVE WORKER'S DEATH. WENT TO EXAMINE FUSE. |"by telegraph.—own correspondent.] TE PUKE, Monday. A fatal blasting accident occurred on the native development on tho Eangiuru block to-day, the victim being Kohera, a Maori. He had placed a plyg of gelignite tinder a stump and had lighted the fuse. As the charge did not explode deceased went to see if'the fuse was alight. Just as he reached the stump the charge exploded and Kohera received extensive, injuries to the upper part of the body. He was attended to by Dr. and removed to the Qauranga Hospital, but he died a few minutes after his admittance.
