BARD OF AVON.
SHAKESPEARE MEMORIAL. PRINCE OF WALES TO OPEN. (Received February 28, 5.5 p.m.) British Wireless. RUCIBV, Feb. 27. The Prince of "Wales has consented to open the new Shakespeare Memorial at Stratford-on-Avon on April 23, the bards birthday.
Tli e Shakespeare Memorial at Strat-ford-on-Avon, in its original form, was mainlv due to the munificence of Mr. C. E." Flower (1830-92) and his wife. IL consists of ii library, an art gallery, a museum of antiques and relics, a tower, statuary (Lord Ronald flower's gift) and a theatre. A fire in 1926 destroyed the theatre but it has been rebuilt by international subscriptions. Special performances with a floral procession to the tomb of Shakespeare commence each year on the day of his birth.
