OBITUARY.
mr. j. p. Mcknight.
[from ovr own correspondent. 3 HAMILTON. Sunday. The death occurred yesterday of Mr. Joseph Patrick McKnight, of Pembroke Street, Hamilton, at the age of 73 years. Mr. McKnight, who was born in Birmingham, England, went to Australia in 1879 and after 10 years came to New Zealand. He settled on a farm near Dunedin and four years later came to Hamilton. where he commenced in business as a land agent. Mr. McKnight was a wellknown follower of the turf, and at one time owned a number of racehorses. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Mr. C. McKnight and Mr. Nelson McKnight, of Wellington, the well-known boxer, and one daughter, Mrs. V« Drummond, of Hamilton. MR. P. J. GRIFFIN. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Sunday. The death occurred last night of Mr. P. J. Griffin, a well-known Wellington citizen and proprietor of tho Gresham Hotel, aged 57 years.
