DEATH IN ENGLAND. «. LONDON, Feb. 10. The death has occurred of Mr. William Knight Smith, the famous toastmaster. He invented his own profession 40 year* ago and was one of the best-known men in London. Mr. Knight Smith was tall, and he had a commanding voice. He always wore a scarlet dresscoat at. gatherings. His manner of giving details about speakers and announcing their full titles was familiar to everyone who attended public luncheons, dinners and receptions in London. lie earned more than £SOOO a year.
