The election of the Chairman of.Committees is expected to be made at tomorrow's sitting of the House. The Government nomination will be Mr. 5. G. Smith, who occupied the position at the beginning of the last Parliament and was restored to that office toward the end of last year, when he resigned Ministerial office to f cilitate the formation of the Coalition Government. No other aspirant for the position lias been discussed, so Mr. Smith s unanimous election is likely.
