AUCKLAND HOSPITAL.

gir,—l was very pleased to read Mr. -jiy j. Hayes' letter in the Herald in regard to the complaint made by the Aero Club and agree with Mr. Hayes that, from personal experience of the casualty ward, not only of myself, but also of others ■who have received treatment, one cannot speak too highly of the kindness and attention received from all connected with this department. As a constant visitor to the hospital I know a little of the splendid work the doctors, sisters and nurses ar e doing, so let us give credit where credit is due. A. HambLlN.

Sir, —I feel. indignant at the indignation that is expressed by Mr. J. H. Hayes, Ward 3, on the action of the Hospital Board in dealing with a complaint fi' o " 1 - M'*. Spencer Mason. I have been a patient in the hospital, and was treated well on most occasions, but was sadly neglected on one occasion while there, because of no doctor being available when urgently needed by me. The nurse could not find a doctor for a very considerable time. I have found doctors as a rule very kind and considerate, but even they a'.o not immune from making mistakes. 1 drive a motor-car, and Although T drive in a very efficient manner past 50 intersections, and then neglect my duty at the next one, it is quite right that 1 should be called in question, and there is no honest reason why doctors, nurses, or any other person should jiot be treated in the same honest manner. J. K. Allison. 9, Queen's Way, Mount Roskill.
