TWO SOLO EVENTS DECIDED. CONTESTS AT WELLINGTON. [by telegraph.—press association.] WELLINGTON, Monday. The following awards have been made in the solo competitions at the New Zealand band championship contest, which is being held at Athletic Park Boys' Solo, under 17 years (own seleclion).—T. G. Hickman, Wanganui Garrison Band, 88 points, 1; F. Sykes, jun., Taranaki Regiment Band and New Plymouth Municipal Band, 85 points, 2; L, H. Abrahams, Nelson Garrison Band, 84 points. 3. B Flat or BB Flat Bass Solo (own selection). —T. H. Hughes, jun., Nelson Garrison Band, 88 points, 1; C. Hansen, Woolston Band, 87 points, and A. Hughes, Woolston Band, 87 points, dead-heat, 2.
