POSITION OF THE FUNDS. DECREASE IN BUILDING. [BY TELEGRArK. —TOESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Discussing Church property and finance at to-day's session of the Methodist Conference, the president, Rev. M. A. RugbvPratt, said the district reports reflected the economic condition of the Dominion. The total receipts for trust purposes showed a considerable decrease. Ihe amount expended in the purchase of land and the erection of new buildings and additions showed a decrease of £12,675. Mortgago debts showed a gratifying reduction of £11,380 and debit balances were £1368 less than last year. A total of £23,711 was held for special purposes.It was decided to grant £IOO to the Dunedin Central Mission to aid the scheme for acquiring land and buildings.

The Hawke's Bay-Manawatu Synod recomtnended that tlie conference should grant from the fire insurance fund a gift to the Hastings trust of £IOOO as additional help in restoring the wrecked church. The recommendation of the fire insurance committee was for a loan of £IOOO, with suspension of payment for two years. It was decided to refer the matter back to the fire insurance committee for favourable consideration of tha appeal for a grant of £IOOO as a gift.
