CAREER OF MR. H. C. CHOYCE.

Mr. H. C. Choyce, for a-i'iifetime head of tlie firm of Milne and Choyce, Limited, will celebrate his 91st birthday to-day. He was in Leicestershire, England, receiving part of his education in France, he became an apprentice to a wholesale draper in London. He arrived in New Zealand in 1866. He spent a few years in the bush and on the Thames goldfield before re-entering the drapery business in the early "seventies." Later he joined the firm, that bears his name, continuing to play an active part in its affairs until he retired a few years ago. when ho was considerably over 80 years of age.
